Job Description:
- This is an opportunity to partner with the CD function, Cultural Engagement and the Corporate Functions across MENA and to build key relationships within the business and develop an in-depth knowledge of the business by understanding its financial position, short, midrange and long-term plans and the culture being driven.
- To support the business within a transforming HR and business organization, in leveraging the application of HR expertise and services to deliver the business objectives while increasing the impact, agility and professionalism of the delivery of the HR plan.
- The post holder will need to be accountable to deliver the right level of service to the business
- Ensuring the right CoE stakeholders and related CoE services are provided to the business in line with agreement and expectations
Responsibilitis:
You will be accountable for:
Consultancy, analysis & problem-solving
1. Applies authoritative knowledge of the HR function, and a first principles understanding of presenting problems, to solve a range of complex short-medium term business issues
2. Reviews specified, multi-faceted problems and issues, integrating, analysing and interpreting complex and diverse information to develop and implement new or cutting-edge solutions
3. Distils complex concepts and analysis into cogent and persuasive business case presentations, which convincingly influence decision-makers about the need for significant changes to policy or practice.
Internal customer focus:
1. Uses in-depth understanding of the wider Organisational context to ensure the concerns and issues facing their internal customer(s) are fully understood at a senior level, and that their needs are factored appropriately into corporate priorities, plans, decisions and initiatives.
2. Consults closely with internal customers and other stakeholder to understand current and future business needs (likely to be over an annual time horizon), and ensures the necessary resources and plans are in place so that the services and advice they provide meets those demands.
Service improvement:
1. Influences partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service that reflects the business objectives of the organisation leading to enhanced employee engagement and ultimately improved productivity and performance.
2. Makes authoritative technical/professional recommendations which have a significant, measurable impact on business performance in the short and medium term.
3. Identifies and implements new approaches and/or techniques which enhance efficiency and the wider business impact of the HR function.
4. Supports organisation change planned within the region and ensures that the people dimensions are well planned, aligned with the policies and values of the British Council and implemented effectively
Functional expertise:
1. Monitoring headcount, locations and skills forecast for HR, together with developing consistent workforce planning and skills frameworks which are aligned to the business planning cycle.
2. This includes the analysis of HR data alongside strategic objectives to ensure the workforce strategy aligns to business objectives; as well as any forward planning, whether short, medium or long term.
3. Identifying and diagnosing business supply and demand for HR.
4. It may also involve consulting with the wider HR team and identifying HR solutions and services that can be implemented to support the business agenda.
5. Drives consistency of approach across SBU’s in attracting, managing and developing talent to support current and future organisational needs.
6. Advises and supports senior managers on people requirements, including organisation design, talent and people change implementation.
7. Provides expertise across a range of HR subjects by using data to analyse trends and associated risks. 8. Design and deliver high impact solutions that meet the business needs.
9. Recognised internally as an authority and ‘go-to’ advisor on issues related to HR.
10. Acts as a role model and coach to developing experts within the HR function.
Relationship & stakeholder management:
1. Manage the relationship with the business stakeholders and develop an in-depth knowledge of the business by understanding its financial position, short, midrange and long-term plans and the culture being driven. Influence other HR colleagues to align and enhance integrated services that would achieve the business goals/vision.
2. Manage the relationship with relevant CoE resources to ensure consistent use of frameworks and processes.
3. Engage with business stakeholders to ensure appropriate application and utilization of CoE and other HR services
4. Builds a network of internal sponsors and supporters to help influence decision-making
Leadership & management:
1. Providing HR and talent input to the development of business strategy for specific business areas. Work in partnership with business management to identify the people implications of strategic and business growth plans across defined organizational areas.
2. Ensure the alignment of talent practices and policies in line with the business and HR strategies. This includes ongoing talent strategy evaluation.
3. Has a formal role in supporting the development of wider regional HR strategy and within the business or regional unit they support
4. Will provide formal line management to the People BP unit, involved in providing expertise, advice and specialist support.
Requirements:
Looking for Someone who:
1. has Senior HR BP experience in a commercial, matrix and international environment.
2. has demonstrable experience of Managing a range of complex internal and external stakeholders and hold experience in a multi-country or regional role.
3. Has experience of building effective relationships with senior business leadership teams and be able to work, communicate with and influence senior stakeholders effectively.
4. Presents sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others.
5. Can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement or behaviour change.
6. Where necessary resolves highly charged, high-profile conflicts
7. is adaptable and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups.
8. Understands and appreciates different and opposing perspectives and adapts an approach as required of a situation.
9. need to have experience in understanding the business value drivers and is commercially aware.
10. need to have proven ability to effectively coach managers and leaders on complex HR issues.
11. need to have experience in demonstrated Project Management skills and hold ability to thrive in a highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environment and maintaining focus on impact
